thology professor at the Utnversity of
Pittsburgh.
But, he said; "there is a: lack of scien-
tific information incriminating
atmospheric tobacco smoke as a health
hazard."
A study published in the July: issue of.
the New England Journal of Medicine
concluded that breathing the air in a
roomful of cigarette smokers can be dan-
gerous for peopie with angina pectoris; a
chest pain associated'with heart disease.
usual after they saL in a room with people
smoking cigarettes. It also reported that
some of the men also ha&premature ven-
tricular heart beatsa disorder associated
with sudden death. '
Fisher said people increasingly are
suffering from "smoke-aphobia and
cancer-aphobia" = an intense fear of
cigarettes and cancer. He said this appre-
